Leah Zlatkin quoted in InsideHalton.com: ‘Ontario homes are taking more than 5 months to sell as the market shifts in buyers’ favour — Experts explain what it means for sellers’

“When you see a sign on a lawn for a really long time, either you have an unmotivated seller, you have a realtor who doesn’t know the appropriate placing for that region, or you have somebody who is simply putting a sign out and hoping for reasonably more money for that property,” Leah Zlatkin, licensed mortgage broker and COO of Mortgage Outlet, told Metroland Media.

“When it comes to people needing to sell for a divorce or needing to move for work purposes, if there’s an urgency to sell, realtors are absolutely pricing the properties a lot lower,” she added. “Clients are selling for lower than what they wanted, but they are still selling.”

Zlatkin added the average home is now sitting on the market for more than five months. She said some homeowners who tried to sell in the spring might have wanted to wait it out to see if things were going to pick up this fall, but that hasn’t happened.
